Oklahoma City government uses an unlicensed work recovery program as a source of cheap labor. Some former clients say the program was more focused on keeping their wages instead of helping them with sobriety.
The bid, obtained by The Frontier, shows that while Tulsa offered the trillion-dollar company all it had available, it couldn’t — and maybe shouldn’t — have gone to the lengths of the winning bidders.
Hall-Harper, Tulsa’s lone black councilor, was visibly troubled by the comments made Wednesday, and said that she would eventually vote in favor of the name change.
The comments were made during a public meeting on Wednesday as discussions were taking place about potentially changing the name of a street that was once named after Tate Brady.
In an email from jail to The Frontier, Maldonado-Passage said the new charges are part of an ongoing effort to frame him.
“This is now a witch hunt,” Maldonado-Passage said in the email.
