Your donation to The Frontier helps us provide the most comprehensive and trustworthy reporting on government and politics in Oklahoma.
After I joined The Frontier in February, I broke the story on the Oklahoma Department Tourism Department’s questionable spending on Swadley’s Foggy Bottom Kitchen restaurants,
In partnership with Oklahoma Watch, I worked to uncover the mishandling of the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief funds. Some of the federal relief money intended for school supplies was used instead to purchase home appliances and video game consoles.
The Swadley’s story led to a criminal investigation by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the resignation of the executive director of the Tourism Department and the proposal of a new state law.
This past election cycle, I drove to all corners of the state, covering the contests for Oklahoma’s open U.S Senate and House seats and the gubernatorial race.
On the campaign trail, I watched rural voters in western Oklahoma quiz Gov. Kevin Stitt on his school voucher plan. I reported on the immense amounts of dark money being poured into Oklahoma’s elections. And I wrote about Joy Hofmeister’s less than clear stance on abortion.
All of these stories were made possible through the generosity of our donors. Your donation allows us to produce some of the best journalism in the state. Any dollar amount helps.
Now through Dec. 31, all donations to The Frontier up to $1,000 will be matched by a collaborative fundraising movement called NewsMatch. With your help, we can earn up to $30,000 through the program. With those dollars, we will be able to produce more reporting and continue to grow.
Thank you for helping us continue to shine a light on Oklahoma.
